Grievance Redressal

If you have a complaint about content hosted using our services, about how we have handled your information, or about our services generally, this page tells you who to contact, what happens next, and by when.

This mechanism is published under Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

Grievance Officer

Raj Singh
Grievance Officer
Brainguru Technologies Private Limited
Bhutani Alphathum, Tower A, Sector 90, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201305, India
Telephone: +91 80100 10000
Email: info@brainguru.in

Please write in English or Hindi. If you telephone, follow up in writing so there is a record we can act on and track against the timelines below.

What you can raise here

  • Content hosted using our services that you believe is unlawful, or that breaches our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Content that exposes a private area of a person, shows full or partial nudity, depicts a sexual act, or impersonates someone including by artificially morphed images
  • How we have handled your personal information
  • Any complaint about our compliance with the IT Rules, 2021

For copyright and trademark infringement, please use Copyright and Trademark Notices, which sets out what a notice must contain. For spam, phishing, malware or network abuse, use our Abuse Reporting Policy — those reach the right team faster.

What to include

  1. Your name and contact details.
  2. The exact URL or identifier of the content or service concerned.
  3. What the problem is, and why you believe it breaches the law or our policies.
  4. Any supporting material — timestamps with the time zone, headers, correspondence.
  5. A statement that the information you have given is accurate.

Our timelines

These are set by the 2021 Rules, not chosen by us:

  • We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours of receiving it.
  • We dispose of it within 15 days of receipt.
  • Where the complaint concerns material that is prima facie nudity, a sexual act, or impersonation including morphed images, we take all reasonable measures to remove or disable access within 24 hours of the complaint. No court order is needed for this.
  • Where we receive a court order, or notification from an appropriate government agency, that information is unlawful, we act within 36 hours.
  • Where an authorised government agency lawfully requires information or assistance, we provide it within 72 hours of the order.

We retain the relevant information and user registration records for 180 days after removing or disabling access to content, and after any cancellation or withdrawal of a registration.

If you are not satisfied with our decision

You may appeal to a Grievance Appellate Committee constituted by the Central Government under Rule 3A of the 2021 Rules. You can appeal within 30 days of receiving our decision, or if we have not responded to you within 30 days.

Appeals are filed online, free of charge, at gac.gov.in. The Committee endeavours to decide appeals within 30 days. You should contact our Grievance Officer first — the portal expects that step to have been taken.

Nothing here affects your right to approach a court or any other authority.

Compliance with Grievance Appellate Committee orders

We comply with every order a Grievance Appellate Committee passes in an appeal concerning us. As Rule 3A(7) of the 2021 Rules requires, we publish a report of that compliance on our website, in this section of this page.

No compliance reports have been published yet.

What this mechanism cannot do

We are a service provider, not a court. We cannot decide who owns a work, whether a statement is defamatory, or the merits of a commercial dispute between you and one of our customers. Where a matter needs a legal determination, the right route is a court or the appropriate authority, and we will comply with its order.
