This policy explains what personal data Brainguru Technologies Private Limited (“Brainguru”, “we”) collects through this website, www.brainguru.in, why we collect it, who processes it for us, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It covers enquiries, job applications and comments sent through this site, and your visits to it. Work we do for clients under a contract is covered by that contract instead.
We follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information Rules, 2011, which apply today, and this policy is also written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules, whose main duties apply from May 2027.
What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in and, optionally, a message. The enquiry form on our advertising landing page asks for the same details. With each enquiry we also record the page you sent it from, the date and time, and your IP address. We use this to reply to your enquiry, to discuss or quote for the work you ask about, and to keep spam out. The enquiry is stored in our database and emailed to our team (one our spam check flags as automated is stored but not emailed).
When you apply for a job
Our careers pages use a Google Form, which asks for your email address, name, phone number, current address, date of birth, work experience, technical skills, the position you are applying for and a cover letter. Google stores the responses for us. You can also email your CV to careers@brainguru.in. We use this only to consider your application and contact you about it. Please do not include identity numbers, bank details or health information in an application.
When you comment on a blog post
We ask for your name, email address and comment, and record your IP address. Comments are published only after we approve them, showing your name, the comment and its date. Your email address and IP address are never published.
When you message us on WhatsApp
The WhatsApp buttons on this site open WhatsApp with our number, and some fill in a message for you: for example the details of an enquiry you have just sent, or the figures you entered in our ROI calculator. Nothing is sent unless you press send in WhatsApp. WhatsApp messages are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms.
When you use our free tools
Most of our free tools run entirely in your browser, and what you type into them does not reach us. The SEO analyser is the exception: it sends the web address you enter to our server, which fetches that page to analyse it. Some tools keep a small usage record in your browser’s local storage; the Cookie Policy lists these.
Analytics, only if you agree
If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser type and your approximate location, using a cookie identifier. It does not run unless you accept, and you can withdraw at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. The Cookie Policy has the details.
Security and server logs
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives your IP address to tell a person from an automated script. Like any web server, ours logs each request: your IP address, browser, the page requested, the referring page and the time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working.
The basis on which we use your data
We use the details you send us for the purpose you sent them for (answering an enquiry, considering an application, publishing a comment) with your consent, which you give by sending them and can withdraw at any time. We use analytics only with your consent, and security logs to keep the site safe and to meet our legal duties.
Who processes your data for us
- Amazon Web Services hosts this website and its database, and delivers the site through its content delivery network.
- Google provides our email (enquiries and CVs reach us by email), the careers form, Google Analytics (only with your consent) and, if you choose to open it, the map.
- Cloudflare provides the Turnstile check on our forms.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us there.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We may disclose it where the law requires us to, for example to a court or a government agency with legal authority to ask for it.
Where your data is stored
Our website and database are hosted on Amazon Web Services servers in Singapore. Google and Cloudflare may process data in other countries, including the United States. We transfer personal data outside India only as Indian law allows.
How long we keep it
We do not delete enquiries, job applications or comments automatically: we keep them until you ask us to delete them. Emails and careers-form responses stay in our Google account on the same basis. Our web server keeps its request logs for about a week; our application’s error log is kept longer, and records technical details of errors, which can include the address of the page involved. Daily database backups are kept for seven days, and our hosting setup keeps further backups, so a copy of deleted data can remain in a backup for a limited time after we delete the original.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop using it where you gave consent: withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect what we did before you withdrew;
- accept requests from someone you nominate to act for you if you die or become unable to act yourself.
To make a request, email info@brainguru.in from the email address you used with us, or tell us the details you gave us (for example your name and phone number) so that we can find your data and confirm the request is yours. For analytics, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer, Raj Singh, at info@brainguru.in or on +91 80100 10000. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days of receiving them. Our Grievance Redressal page explains the process.
Once the Digital Personal Data Protection Act’s duties apply (May 2027), if you are not satisfied with how we handled your complaint, you can then complain to the Data Protection Board of India, through the channels the Board publishes. The Act asks you to use our grievance process first.
Children
This website and our services are meant for adults and businesses. Please do not send us personal data if you are under 18. If we learn that we hold a child’s personal data without a parent’s consent, we will delete it.
How we protect your data
This website is served only over HTTPS, so data travelling between your browser and the site is encrypted. Access to our systems and data is limited to the people who need it, and we keep backups so that data is not lost. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable care.
If a security incident affects your personal data, we will report it as the law requires: to CERT-In within six hours of noticing a reportable incident and, once the Digital Personal Data Protection Act’s duties apply, to the Data Protection Board of India and to you, with what happened, what it means for you and what we are doing about it.
Changes to this policy
When what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page.
